Q. interview question/answer, what is your greatest strength/weakness?
Asked by blake1580 - Thu Sep 3 12:14:53 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. A good answer would be for you to tell the interviewer one of your strengths. Let's say, for example, one of your strengths is your excellent listening skills. This comes in handy when dealing with (working with might be a better word) parents. Be sure to LISTEN to the interviewer too or else they will know you do NOT have good listening skills. When you talk about a weakness, be sure to mention it like this: "Well, something I'm working on is ..." (input here the thing you are working on) (it could be that you are working on better ways to close a lesson, for example.) State that you have already sought guidance from other teachers and have improved already in this area, but would like to see more growth in this area of your teaching… [cont.]

A. That would be those skills and areas you excel in, in the area of work in which you're applying. I.E. Computer skills, customer relations, document preparation, etc. If you can't answer this off the top of your head, its best to prepare a list of strengths and practice answering before the interview. Luck to you! :)

A. I think the post I referenced will help you a lot...it starts with this: "Here's a five-step response strategy for this question: 1. Highlight your strengths for the position. 2. Mention a new skill or area in which you are not yet as strong as you'd like to be (don't use the word "weakness."). 3. Outline what you're doing to master the new skill and overcome your so-called "weakness." 4. Describe how this new skill will improve your value to the company. 5. Finish with a question that will redirect the interview back to your real strengths." It finishes with examples of how you can bring it all together. I'm sure if you work on this it will sound original...Good luck!

What's are your weaknesses? (interview question)?
Q. So I'm kind of wondering how would you answer this? Is it better to give an answer that's in the gray line of a strength/weakness or saying a weakness that doesn't really have to do with the technical work and is a less important weakness? If you're a manager and have dealt with this question while interviewing candidates it would be great to hear your perspective. BTW it would be for chemical engineering.

A. Logically every person on earth have weaknesses and strengths, during interview try to mention the weaknesses as a result of behavior rather than related to attitude, reason because any behavior can be changed with learn and practice, while attitude is related to heredity and is very difficult to change such attitude because you have not much control on that ,

strength and weakness interview question?
Q. what would you say your strengths and weaknesses if an interviewer asks you?

A. For strengths, I always say "I'm a guy that can learn something fast. With almost anything new, I can adjust to it pretty quickly and work efficiently after that." For weaknesses, I always always always say "Sometimes, I tend to take on the responsibility of too much work." Some interview questions are extremely hard. I hope this helps a bit. Or at least give you an idea on what to say.

A. yuk... the old question. Don't try to use a cliche or try to present a strength as a weakness by saying your weakness is that you are a workaholic. No one will believe that answer. Being too emotional will make the recruiter wonder if your interpersonal skills are lacking. Give a true weakness but one of modest size. Shows that you have taken steps to correct the weakness. For example you want to improve your MS Excel skills so you are taking a course on that now.

A. Well, the strengths part is easy. Go with some combination of these: organized, hard worker, get along with all sorts of people, can work well alone or with minimal supervision, dedicated, prompt, dependable, learn quickly, etc. It is better to select "weaknesses" that you have recognized and taken steps to address. For example, if one of your "weaknesses" is organization, you could say that you recently took a time management course and are putting it into practice, or you sat down with your last boss and worked on "to do" lists and are doing well, or other tangible steps so that you really don't have this "weekness" any more. Please don't use the really tired "I'm a workaholic" or "I'm a perfectionist" lines - they are not really… [cont.]

Interview question: "what are your strengths/ weaknesses"?
Q. can you give examples?
Asked by gopherboy - Sun Feb 21 08:53:55 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I had some training recently on job interviews. Your strengths would be whatever your strengths are, but make sure the ones you mention are ones that will help you do your best at the job. As for weaknesses, I was told, of course to mention ones that are real but that do not affect your job perfomance much. And then to say that you are doing such and such to work on eliminating them. Like you sometimes lose track of time and come back from lunch 5 minutes late, but you take 5 minutes less in your afternoon break to compensate as being responsible is important to you... Or if you are weak in a skill required for the job they will notice if they hire you so it's always good to say you don't have as much prior experience as you'd like to… [cont.]

A. You want your interview to be a very positive event, so you want to avoid sharing negative things as much as possible. However, if you are asked to share your weaknesses, you better list some, because everybody has them. The important thing here is to list very minor weaknesses and very major strengths.

How do you answer the question "what are your strengths" in an interview if you're pessimistic about yourself?
Q. When I'm asked "what are your weakness" I sometimes accidentally name 3 or 4, but I can't think of a good strength. I have low self esteem and can't think of anything from my work experience that was notable. Usually I say something like "well, uh, I got my job done when there were deadlines" but I probably need something better. Yes, I know, confidence is important, you don't need to tell me that. Can you give examples of what I could say? I could name a technical skill but that may not be a good idea. I'm talking about interviews for IT type jobs.

A. RecruitingTips is right in asking the question, "What do others say about you?" Ask friends or former bosses. Read through your old performance reviews. Some good possible strengths are: "I'm good at prioritizing. When I have multiple projects and deadlines, I identify the one most crucial to the business and start there." "I have a strong sense of urgency. I don't waste time at work and I always meet my deadlines." "I'm a good communicator. When someone's explaining the details of a project to me, I use active listening skills to make sure I have a complete understanding of what they need." Self esteem doesn't matter. A. As honestly as possible without shooting yourself in the foot. For any question, take a beat or two of silence to think about your answer. Smile, look the person in the eye and be honest. Be yourself. Think about it - do you want to work for someone who wants you for you, or wants the person you pretended to be in the interview?

What strategy should I use for my interview?
Q. I have been a civil rights advocate for the past few years and an attorney for the past year (I passed the bar exam on my first try a few years ago, but only recently got sworn in). I have an interview lined up for a Deputy District Attorney position. It's been six years since I have done an interview, but I am confident that I will be able to prepare for the standard interview questions (strengths, weaknesses, where do you see yourself in five years, etc.). I plan to brush up on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence as well. Other than that, what can I do to prepare? What are they looking for? Should I say that I want the job because I want courtroom experience? Or should I say I want to lock up the thugs and throw away the… [cont.]

Q. I have been a civil rights advocate for the past few years and an attorney for the past year (I passed the bar exam on my first try a few years ago, but only recently got sworn in). How do I answer the most common job interview questions?
Q. Why should I hire you? What is your biggest weakness? What is your biggest strength and a lot of other interview questions. I just do not know how to answer them and am not all that conversational. Also, feel free to tell me about some other tough interview questions and the answers that would be good to give.

A. The rule of thumb to use is to tell as much truth as you have to; not every single thing that's true. Thus, if you are asked 'Why should I hire you', tell them the truth -- that you're smart, motivated, interested in their business, willing to work hard (this assumes that all of these ARE true) -- but don't mention that they should hire you because you're desperate, or you just want to work for them to earn money for illicit purposes. They don't want your life story; what they want is two fold -- to have a reason to hire you, and not hear anything that scares them. Give them that hiring reason by being exactly what they want - again, someone who's smart, motivated, a person who will provide a benefit to the company. As to the specific… [cont.]
