A. My horse is 14 years old and we barrel race and she is really good. I just have a a bridle, saddle, and leg wraps (which I would say leg protection is a must for barrel racing.) But other things that you would probably want to consider is a tie down, contesting reins, breast collar, etc...) here is a website that has really cool neon colored contesting tack www.smithbrothers.com, and in the little "search catagory" type in "neon tack" and a whole list of brightly colored contesting equipment will come up.

Why were Chaparall racing cars not allowed to race in the CANAM racing circuits?
Q. I read an article that the "Chaparalls" were not allowed to race because that they had electrical fans on the bottom of their cars which would hold them down to the ground lower then any other CANAM racing car. Also, people in the race circuit did not allow racing cars with automatic transmissions to compete. Are some of these reasons true?

A. . This should clarify...from the net. Pretty comprehensive and interesting too. Texan Jim Hall began racing sportscars in SCCA events in the early '50s. He became pretty good at it. In 1957 he moved from Dallas to Midland to be closer to his family's oil business. There he joined a syndicate that built and ran a sportscar track called Rattlesmake Raceway. It was never very good as a racing facility, so when Hall formed Chaparral in the early '60s, he acquired the track as a private test facility and built his factory there. Early Chaparrals competed in various sportscar races across the country including the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. From 1963-1965, Chaparrals driven by Hall and Hap Sharp, dominated SCCA racing.… [cont.]

How can I show my interest in racing in my senior pictures?
Q. I'm going to take my senior pictures soon. I really love stock car racing. How can I show my interest in this w/ my senior pictures? Also, what are some good ideas to use my car in my senior pictures?

A. You could try to incorporate a checkered flag in some of your portraits, or a racing helmet. As for your car, there are TONS of great poses you can do to include it - many seniors like to have a photo or two with their car - just talk to your photographer about it. I'm sure he/she would have some great ideas. A few popular ideas for having a car in your portraits: you sitting on the hood of your car, you standing leaning against the side of your car, you sitting in the driver's seat with the window or even door open.
