What is the proper way to conduct a round robin hardness test?

A. Generally, round robin testing is done among laboratories, to determine precision and bias. Yet I don't see why you couldn't modify that concept to determine a statistical difference between your inspectors. I'd strongly suggest you take a look at an article on the ASTM website, at where Pat Picareillo discusses ASTM E691 and other tools. I'd also urge you to check conductivity of the heat treated aluminum, and not just hardness. They go hand in hand! See AMS 2658 for more information on that.

A. Hi One of the real headaches in market research is when you have to fly blind and then discover that your questions dont give you the type of data you needed. Sometimes you can only see what you should have asked once you get the results. Your problem is that its hard to know how refined to have your age groups to give useful information, while not making people uncomfortable about telling you their age or bored by a long detailed list of groups. All you can do is apply common sense and design groups, then go and pretest your survey to see how people respond and what results you get. Then refine the instrument.
