What are the rules and conduct for dealing with an Illegal downloader?
Q. I know some people who download illegal music and movies. I would like to scare one of them in particular, but I don't wanna go overboard. Ill skip the back round story and just say it's for their own good. Mainly what I wanna know is if I call the cops on her or tip them off in anyway, what ever, they just find out about it. Whats goina happen? Are they goina kick in the door flash a warrant grab her computer and read her her Miranda warning? Whats the usual conduct? Whats the odds of them finding her on their own? How would they find her? Thanks all for the help.

A. Besides maybe impeading a funeral posession (an actual law) this is one of the most unenforced laws I know of. Espeshally with the who "file sharing" verses illegal downloading debate. The only thing you can really do it call a tip hotline. I'm sure your city website has a number. As for the reaction I can't say. They're not going bust her door in, call up SWAT, etc. The most severe thing would be a misdameanor warrent filed for her arrest, and then filed away gathering dust until the next time she is pulled over, in which case she will most likely just be summoned to court. That's worse case though, chances are they totally ignore it or do something lame like call her parents, but I think the totally ignore it route is more likely. … [cont.]

A. You have received a good answer to your question. But what are you asking? In your main question you say "salt" and then you say "solid". In such a question, this makes a great difference. Please be careful of your terminology. I scrapped my original aswer, because I was not sure what you wanted to know. Any salt, by its definition, will conduct electricity when dissolved in water - no exceptions. But not every white solid will conduct electricity when dissolved in water. You are essentially looking for an organic solid that is soluble in water, and it will not conduct electricity because it does not ionise. I think here of sugar. But sugar is soluble in ethanol, but it will not conduct electrcity in either case. This answer is not of much… [cont.]

He DID NOT hit me, but held me against my will, and physically pinned me down causing severe bruising during the struggle to get away from him. He is now being charged with Domestic Disorderly Conduct. What do the charges consist of? Is it a felony charge? I know I can call and ask too.
