Q. How do we know the stars are there? I mean we all probobly see sparkles in the sky but how do we actually know they are what they are? What if they are not what we think they are? What if all the information on google (whatever) about astronomy (so is everything) is FALSE? what if there is no astronomy and other sciences? what if the sky is a huge projector and we are in a kind of a movie? They're discovering some ruins and fossils? what if they are not 'real' ruins and fossils. What if someone planted them there deliberatly for some "dumb" archeologist to find? How come no one gets their question answered in the 'Higher education' section?
Q. I've noticed that many people have asked questions in this section, but many are answerless. i mean, so many people need their questions answered..but no one is answering? (is this just a misconception i have?)

A. A lot of people do get their questions answered, the only problems being: 1) This isn't a very popular section. There are a select number of people who like to answer in this section (myself, included - note the top contributer badge in this section). 2) This stems from the last point - since not many people like to think about school while away from it, those select people who enjoy answering in here aren't always online. A lot of questions go unnoticed because no one qualified or someone who cares enough was online to answer it. 3) Some questions are strongly relevant to their personal school, class, or teacher. Sometimes, no one can answer that question unless we've gone to your school or know the teacher. And more often than not, we… [cont.]

A. in a sense all addictions are closelyrelated, but why and what causes the addiction can be very different. there is a group of things that make you feel good(pleasure) a group that relieves pain a group that is about excitement, (and i suspect self worth) i would have guessed internet addiction sort of captured your attention and wouldn't let you go. ( i don't now) === so i don't have a clue if the 2 addictions are more closely related than that. wait - by gaming do you mean gambling, on games on the computer? because gaming on the computer should be very close to internet addiction.

is it possible for me to have thrush but not spread it to my baby?
Q. i went to the doctor today to confirm that i had mastits, and he said i might also have a touch of thrush and gave me some ointment to apply. My son though seems perfectly normal he is not acting fussy( aside from the fact he has a cold which is why i think i got mastitis in the first place because we was eating more frequently and more aggressively) his mouth is clear he has no diaper rash. I called his doctor and asked if i should bring him in or if they needed to call in a prescription for him and they said just to wait and see if he gets symptoms. Has anyone ever had thrush of the nipples but not given it to your baby. I have looked this up online and again came up answerless. I feel like i am asking the same questions over and over… [cont.]

A. well my daughter had it, but I showed no symptoms. and we were breastfeeding... so I would imagine the other way around is entirely possible. it wouldn't hurt to lightly treat baby with gentian violet just incase. but almost always, when breastfeeding, if one gets thrush - you both have thrush... even if one doesn't seem to be affected by it, she/he is still a carrier at least. here's a link w/ a ton of other thrush resources:

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne?
Q. After reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne I was researching it more thoroughly online. I came across a question which remained answerless: It has been said that Hawthorne is interested in sin not as a theological subject, but as a psychological force in the lives of the early New England colonists. Describe the psychological effects of sin on one of the major characters in The Scarlet Letter. I was wondering if anyone had any input on this question that I could add to my own thoughts. thanks (:
Asked by lipslikesugar - Sun Nov 23 00:18:46 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The first characters that come to my head are Dimmsdale and Chillingworth. Dimmsdale allows his "sin" to eat away at him and basically make him miserable for years. He dwells on his sin so much that he starts to deteriorate physically, and he thought of himself as a horrible person. I'd say that's a psychological effect. Chillingworth allowed himself to become so obsessed with revenge that he completely changed. He allowed the obsession to consume him and take over his life. The way he viewed the world and acted was distorted.

adopting a puppy?
Q. So i've been having trouble getting any shelters/rescues to contact me back about adopting a pet. I've send polite e-mails requesting information and have filled out adoption applications, and yet no one has contacted me back. Most applications are yes or no answers, and although I just moved six months ago from a home where I raised the three dogs that live there, I answer no when asked if i have any pets, because in fact, there are none that live with me. I supposed this may be a good thing anyways because they would know that I definitely have the time to care for a new puppy. A. As an animal rescuer that sends out "adoption applications", there are several questions in my application that I base follow up contact on. Most rescues get a lot of responses on their fur kids that they have in rescue, and we want to assure the best possible placement and match for these animals. Here are a few things that you might want to consider your answers to...Do you live in an animal friendly enviroment?? Do you have experience with the breed you're looking to adopt? . Do the applications ask you to list any animals that you have or have had in the past, and if you have them now, and if not, why?? (Your answer to this is a vital piece of information to the rescue) did they ask if your animal/s were spayed or neutered?? (Again [cont.]

A. Whose to say what all the blood is for, they are probably doing all kinds of blood tests. maybe a complete blood count, metabolic profile -this tests your electrolytes and sugar, may be testing some of your hormones. Really they can test blood for all sorts of things! The 24 hr urine is usually a creatnine clearance-they want to know how much creatnine you are getting rid of in one day. They usually do this to test kidney function. So I hope this help. Good luck with your results.

ISO agent, is it good to pay him to get certified from ISO?
Q. I have a met a guy who is claiming that he is an ISO agent. I have got my own computer center. He offered me an ISO certification in 23,000 INR. I asked him his identification n he was answerless. I was not satisfied. I told him to meet me tomorrow. Then I checked his details on Google. His address is verified but how can I believe that he is authorised to give me certificate. I am little bit confused. If I try to apply directly to ISO, its not possible as their head office is in Switzerland. I am not sure whether it is good to pay him money or not at local level. Anyone ...suggestions pls. Thanks in advance.

A. It's a scheme. Don't fall for it. This 'answerless' person is not authorized to issue you an ISO certification. I doubt if he has one either. --- Funny how he wants a nice round number of about $500 USD as well. LOL. It's a SCAM.

Will dropping visit/hit numbers to Yahoo reduce their advertisement revenue?
Q. I think that is how advertisement dollars are generated, What is your opinion of that? Also, I haunt the politics section. There seems to be a reduced amount of Q's on the board. Several minutes between Q's. I and others (on both sides of the political spectrum) have posted a number of good ones that are well within boundaries, yet they stay quarantined off the board. They are open for question, but kept off the boards and remain answerless. It seems censorship in play, and will reduce advertising dollars due to the reduced hits. It's their board, but soon or later, people will have enough of not having their views expressed, and simply go someplace else. What is your opinion?
Asked by Josey Wales - Sun Jul 18 15:11:07 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. there is no doubt about the fact that advertising dollars is what yahoo listens to, its their bread and butter, so if the hits lower the rates go down and the ads leave, its economics 101, of course if the advertisers knew how many accounts were new due to suspended accounts, they would never pay what they do now.

What is your opinion?

being homosexual, what exactly is the RIGHT way for us?
Q. Sometimes I think having homosexual desires or being as homosexual, God has punished me. I unfortunately didn't get any correct answer to my this question. I have seen that only the homosexuals (including me) are the ones who promote homosexuality as normal. It is not about me. It is about every single homosexual. It is about the truth. What exactly is the answer? Religion, it denies it. People, some says it is right, some says it is wrong Personally, everyone has different points. What exactly is the answer? Being homosexual is like we have been given life by God and simultaneously God is challenging us to live a life if you can. God wants to prove that even if He has given us a normal body and life, we still have this issue. I… [cont.]

A. Coming out with your sexuality is just a way to be yourself & know who your more comfortable with. God loves you unconditionally, that means if your in a car crash & you can never walk, god will love you, if you go blind god will still love you. What is killing someone compared to being gay, as a sin? Being yourself means you still have alot of pride than those who tell lies.
